Tea and tea bowls are central to Japanese culture. The Tea Bowl series includes many bowls with symbolic patterns, some are inspired by the collection of the V&A in London that Shiomi frequently visited. In the ‘Mirror Bowls’ she celebrates the four seasons and the temperature of the water indicating the new season. Each tea bowl has a reflection of the atmosphere in the air.
