You will work outside and in the studio to create large-scale responses to place and environment using monochromatic media in drawing, ink and wash. This is a unique opportunity to work with this celebrated artist who is an enthusiastic and encouraging teacher.

The course is individually tailored and is most suitable for those with some experience and interested in working in the landscape tradition. You will receive individual and group tuition.

About the Artist

Emma Stibbon RA is an artist who works primarily on paper, producing monochromatic, large-scale drawing and prints. Working from landscape Emma depicts environments that are undergoing dynamic change. She is interested in whether drawing can present a visual space for reflection and engagement with contemporary issues of transition and change in our surroundings.

Emma’s practice emerges through drawing from observation ‘in the field’, often in remote and challenging environments such as Antarctica and the High Arctic. Her current work considers the significant retreat that has now been observed in the ice shelves and glaciers of the Polar Regions.
