In her recent prints Eileen Cooper RA has been inspired by Diana and Actaeon and other mythological tales. The protagonists take centre stage in lucid, playful images of fated lovers – the hunted and the beautiful. Over three decades Eileen Cooper’s work has evolved to make her one of Britain’s foremost figurative artists, participating in significant national and international exhibitions.
In October 2011, Eileen Cooper RA was appointed as Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts. In 2015 Eileen Cooper’s drawings 1984 – 2013 will be the subject of a retrospective exhibition in the Tennant Gallery at the Royal Academy, London. This will coincide with the publication of a monograph on the artist with an essay by Martin Gayford.
